Snape entered the great hall threw a side door, before he moved to take his proper seat a the staff table. Once there he filled his drink & took drinks as he waited for others to show.

Avalena walked in, still dazed about the vision she just saw. If the dementors showed again tonight, then it would prove that the ministry might not be sending them......then she would have to act. She glanced at the headmaster and smiled. She took her usual seat at the end of the table, and looked off into the distance.

The Frau Doktor, a wrap pulled over her typical jacket, entered through the door by the staff table. She nodded perfunctorily, as she always did, to the table, before taking the seat at the headmaster’s left. She took a long sip of her water while her dark eyes raked the hall for miscreants. No one was acting up too badly, and for that she was relieved.

Avalena, saw the D.A.D.A Professor come in, and thought about introducing herself, but waited for her to make the first move. She hadn't even really had a real conversation with anyone yet since she came.

The doctor’s eyes, black with a pupil that swallowed it, pushing the faintest glimmer of amethyst to the edges, fell upon the new addition to the staff, one aristocratic dark brow arched as she openly studied the woman from the top of her golden head to the tips of her shoes and back up again. She was neither smiling nor frowning, nor did it seem she was passing any sort of judgment on her, merely learning with a political curiosity. Leaning into the headmaster she inquired with her lovely mezzo voice a murmur, “Wer ist die neue Lehrerin, Herr Professor?”
((Who's the new teacher?))

He felt Dustin as she leaned into him, at her words he turned his head to lightly speak "Professor Avalena Anderson, der Weissagung" ((Professor Avalena Anderson, of Divination))

Raising the other eyebrow – how clever a trick that must have been as a child, that she could switch them on command – those glittering oculars went back to the woman and inquired, “Doch so?” Suitably interested she made a small gesture to the Divination Professor to come and sit on her other side, as that there was no one in the seat and they hadn’t yet been introduced.
((It pretty much means, 'oh really?'))

Avalena felt the women's gaze fall upon her. From the corner of her eye she saw the DADA teacher motion towards her. Smiling slightly, Avalena rose, her light blue robes falling around her. Walk slowly, but almost glidding, she took a seat next to the woman. Waiting for her to speak, Avalena smiled seeing the women to be kind and quite interesting.

Extending one elegant, alabaster hand the doctor turned slightly in her seat, crossing her ankles, her posture impeccable. Her voice was a comfortable-ranged, harmonic tone with a noticeable German accent as she introduced herself, “Dustin Drache – Defense Against the Dark Arts.” The pronunciation of her own name was markedly not British, her first beginning with a sound like the English word ‘do’ and then rhyming with Christine, and then Drah-kuh, the emphasis on the first syllable. “I’m glad to hear that we finally acquisitioned a divination professor.”

Avalena took the the hand and gently shook it. "Nice to meet you, Dustin Drache. I am, as you already know, Avalena Anderson," she said smiling. "Ah, yes but I must say DADA is a much more useful skill in the wizadring world. You see Divination just gets you into trouble, and DADA gets you out of it." Avalena said laughing. Remembering her old teacher, who used to yell at her, because of her gift of seeing into the future.

Speculatively, polite and a little amused, she inquired, “And do you get into trouble often, Frau Anderson?” Her hand, which had been quite warm and pleasantly dry, was brought back towards her person, resting, almost subconsciously, over the ever-increasing swell at her stomach as one corner of a mouth slightly too small for her timeless, heart-shaped face quirked up, waiting for a response.

Avalena's hand instinctivly rose to the locket around her neck, when asked if she had ever gotten into trouble. A sad shadow passed over her eyes.
Smiling slightly, she replied "Yes, I did, though it wasn't really like I had a choice. Well, I mean I did have a choice, but I just can't stand someone walking into the grips of danger, when I already know about it. But, then again we all get into trouble once in a while."
What Avalena really meant to say, was that ever since her parents death, which she knew was going to happen, but pushed it away in the back of her mind. She basicaly did whatever she could to stop the visions, which were mostly about bad things, from happening, because she wouldn't be able to live with the guilt.
