Snape moved threw a hidden door, that opened behind the staff table. He closed the door behind him, before moving to take a seat at the head masters seat. He then waited to see, who else would enter.

Not long after, the defense professor walked in stiffly, having seen Snape as she opened the door. In silence, she moved to her usual seat, primly spreading a napkin on her lap, turning her cup right-side up in its saucer, and pouring herself a cup of strong, black coffee. She then turned her head toward the headmaster, the expression on her face sober and polite, asking without words if he, too, would like a cup.

He saw Dustin as she took a seat, he tried to be civil at least for the moment. At her question he light shook his head "No thank you"

She inclined her head as if to say, ‘suit yourself,’ and put the coffee pot down. With supreme etiquette she took a sip of her coffee, her eyes fixed on something distant, mouth politely closed, neither slack nor smiling, her posture straight. Silence in this woman was not a strange thing, nor was it awkward. She simply had, at the time, nothing of worth to say to the headmaster.

He saw her actions but, did not say anything he was not in a mood for an arguing where every student would see at least. He waited for a elf to come by before asking for green tea, the elf nodded before returning shortly after with a pot of green tea. Snape pored him self some, he would think to offer some to Dustin when she was done with her coffee.

Lingering over her coffee as the students filtered in, she had removed the Ritter family ring, a tiny wreath of intertwined white and yellow gold, from her fourth finger. It now loosely circled just behind the nail of her index finger, her thumb absently stroking over its surface as she stared at the enchanted ceiling. Finally coming back to herself she used the thumb and pinky of that same hand to slide the ring back into its proper position. She turned to Snape, her expression unchanged as she politely inquired in a low and distinct voice, “Would you please pass the marmalade, Headmaster?” It was directly at the hand opposite the one she sat at, and she collected a piece of toast to her plate with a sort of quiet grace that could not be taught.

At her words he with out thinking reached for what she asked for he looked for where the item she asked for was before handing it to her. As he did so he looked at her as he spoke "Do not get any ideas with my actions" He knew it would come of as a gentleman & perhaps in a way it was. But he was not seen as one & he did not need to have that flitting around among people, from god how long.

She acquired the marmalade from him with a certain aplomb, her face that political fortress of polite smile that couldn’t be cracked. As if she hadn’t heard a word he said, she replied with a gracious but chilly, “You are too kind, Headmaster, thank you.” She proceeded to spread the preserve onto the toast, taking a sip of her coffee after finishing, and then nibbling at the food’s crust.

At her words he hoped that not the hole table had heard, what she said. He drank his green tea hoping that in doing so he could avoid any question that might come from her words.

Washing down her most recent bite with another sip of coffee, she either had read his mind, knowing that he did not wish to speak, or simply had nothing more to say to him. A common barn owl swooped in front of her, delivering a series of newspapers. Without a word, she placed a few knuts in the creature’s pouch, and offered it a slice of bacon. The creature took its treat without question and lifted off, leaving the Defense Professor with enough reading material to occupy her, much to the relief, she was sure, of the headmaster.

He notted she said nothing, he did not miss as the owl delivered the paper to her. Ether she would be so engrossed in the paper or she would find something & be telling him about it. He waited to see what of the two it was.

With unfailing diplomacy, the doctor offered him the Russian paper just before she opened the German, saying nothing, but devouring its contents without a word. Intermittently she would take a bite of toast or a sip of coffee, but otherwise she was unquestionably engrossed in the morning paper.

She was silently immersed in what she was reading, her eyes focusing on politics, current events, and anything that was really worth it to read. Upon finishing with that particular paper, she left it between herself and the headmaster, picking up something that looked suspiciously American and suspiciously muggle. Nevertheless, she was reading it with equal speed as she had the German paper, and, after a few moments, tapped the page with her wand. The page reformatted itself into something a little more wizard-like and she delved into it, completely forgetting her meal.

Snape noticed by glancing at both paper there was not much going on & in many ways that was good. No new was good new or how ever the saying went. He staked the papers together before holding them out to Dustin "I believe these belong to you"
