A Return Out of the Rain

[Severus Snape]

Rigoletto moved into his office with the new arrival, he knew he was wet where his cloak did not cover but at least his guest, if one would call her that would not be as bad off as him. Once in his office he moved to place her on a cot he had in the room, used manly for students that got sick or need a place to stay. He then moved to place more wood in the fire, to make the room more warm. Even if she could not feel it, but it would still help to dry out her clothes.

Lin felt herself being carried, and was placed on something soft...I must be on a bed...where is that warmth coming from.....I'm so hungry...and tired.....

Lin's arm moved, in her hand she held the empty box that once held the blood pills, her hand opened slowly, and the box clattered to the floor.

Rigoletto heard the clatter of the item as it hit the ground, if he had not been use to such noise it would of been a almost unbear able sound. His eyes flickered as he turned to look at her he saw the item, he then moved to pick up some pills that would help her, it was his own cration that did better then most any other suplement. He then moved to get a glass of water, since it is what would be best when taking the pills. He then moved to help her drink the pills, somthing that might not be easy.

Lin felt as though someone was opening her mouth, a piece of cold glass touched her lips. Using her last amount of strength she drank the liquid from the glass. The blood was not of the normal kind that she was used to. It tasted sweet and her hunger disappeared. Pushing herself up, she slowly raised her eyelids, and whispered, to the man who helped her,

"Thank you, for helping me when it wasn't in your position to do so."

At hearing her words he spoke "You are welcome & if you would of been left you would of likly have been dead" With that he rose before placing the glass down as he moved to take seat in a chair by the fire, he knew that he might be found out but he also knew with being a herbology teacher it could give him a loop hole of such about what he truly was.

Lin looked at the man,

"Well as you know, people like me...and from what my instincts tell me..and you don't die as easily. Thank you for the pills, they are much better than my old ones."

Lin looked around the room, she got up and quietly walked over to the fire.

"I know I can trust you, because of what our kind has been going through. My parents forced me to flee when the hunters came, I barley escaped with a few wounds. I have been traveling around looking for more of us, but have found no one. I believe that the more of us that are together the stronger we will be."

Lin gazed into the fire, she gave nothing away that could backfire on her, but from looking at him, and the smell in the air what he was, was unmistakeable.

"My name is Lin Rune, one of few remaining pureblooded vampires. And you are?"

He looked at her before he spoke "One can always die, it is a matter of ones will & if one thinks" He was not one to give away everything ether. "Instincts can be wrong at times, what makes you think you have me so easly peged?" He was deffyent as always, somthing that came from being alone as well as other things. "But you are welcome to the pills" He looked at her as he spoke "I wish you lucky in your serch, for what you seek but, I am more a loner" He heard her last words "Will Miss. Rune I am called Rigoletto" He keep as much as he could from being spoken but he was not one that wished to say more then he should.

"Are you alone, because of the mask you wear? We have changed Rigolleto, past scars don't matter anymore. And don't tell me that you aren't what you are, it all makes sense. The blood pills...why would a normal human have them, and also better ones? Why would someone be outside all alone in the dark? Why would your blood smell like mine and all other purebloods? Tell, me this, why are you running away from us? Why did you seek this place as a refuge? The past is gone, our very existence is threatened, there is no more reason to hide, Rigolleto. I wouldn't even care, if you killed another pureblood, it doesn't matter anymore."

Lin looked at Rigolleto, didn't he know that he could hide from humans but not from his own kind? She felt deeply sorry for him, being all alone...for eternity, was something nobody wants to go through.

"My mask & the scares I carry are only part of what sets me as an out cast, failur & the one that gave me my scares only more of why I am a roge. People do not chage, it is there nature to be what they are, perhaps a few can brake what has been passed down but in the end I am still an out cast & as such do not fit in. It would not be unheard of for a human to wish to profected, somthing wrong with somthing such as blood pills" It could be seen as strang to hear but, he knew it true there had been many that had worked to make the blood pills better, as to help vampires & them selfs in the end. "And perhaps my blood smells, from hanging around the wrong kind at times & I enjoy a walk even if it be in the rain" HIs eyes lightly flickered "I run from none, I seek this place as reruge becouse of work" He would not say what kind "I have kill purbloods before, as for now only time will tell if hapens again" He waited for her words, he was untrusting for a reason he had live along for far to long that he did not trust many he trusted one & that was rare for him.

Lin sat down near the fire, letting her clothes dry.

"I know, that the past still has made deep wounds in you. I know that you won't think of me any different, from any other pureblood. I won't ever know how you have felt these past years, being alone. But, Rigoletto, no one deserves to be alone. My parents..are in hiding or are perhaps dead. My only other family memeber was my Uncle, but others say he died in a fight. No matter what happens though, I know I'm not alone. You have to trust people, Rigoletto, it's a part of life. So, why can't you trust me...maybe it's because you don't trust yourself?"

"I trust my self well & I have trusted others but those that gain my trust must prove they are worthy of it, for I know the price of trusting with out thought" He then waited to see what she would say, he douted any could under stand him or solve him.

Lin thought about his words...true many times before she had trusted people without knowing..the end result was usually good but sometimes everything went wrong. But, she trusted him, because he saved her from a potential death.

"Rigoletto, I trust you, but I know you will not trust me until your life is threatened as was mine, unless if people gain your trust in a different way."

He heard her words before he spoke "Are you so sure that if my life was threatened, I would trustst you? There is more then one way to gain my trust, but I am not one to tell of such ways"

Lin fingered her silver bracelet...what should she do? She felt responsible for this man's hurt, for his losing his trust in others.

"Rigoletto, I was wondering..if I could stay here, seeing how I have no home to go to. Also at night I can go in search for others..I promise not to harm anyone..such as the students or other teachers as yourself."

He heard her words, he was unure if he could trust her but for the moment he knew it would, be easyer to keep track of her or know where she was if somthing happened. "You can stay if you want & I will hold you to your word. But to stay here you might look at teaching or somthing other wise, it could case susspission on you & I am think you do not wish that for the moment any way"
