“Yes, thank you, Herr Professor,” was her absent reply, as she plucked the papers from his hands and rested them on her lap. For a moment, it was like she had completely forgotten that she wasn’t happy with him, like she had completely forgotten the two successive rows that had left her feeling exhausted and frustrated at the cantankerous old bastard’s unmitigated stubborn nature. For as long as she kept reading, there was no defensive wall about her.

After she took the papers he turned back to his meal to start eating, wanting to enjoy the peace of some sort that had come around them both.

After a few moments she was spreading marmalade on another slice of toast, and she finished off the first bite with the last of her coffee. Something she was reading was obviously still in full possession of her attention, and she looked rather excited about it, to be sure.

He could see the glint in her eye, somthing was intresting to her & he was almost fearful to know. Perhaps there was a capturing of some D.E. or that, what ever it was he was willing to place money that he could say somthing & she ethere would not hear him or take a moment to even regester he had spoken.

Her small mouth twisted into probably the smuggest smile he had ever seen, and if he listened closely, he would notice that she was chuckling deep in her chest. After finishing reading whatever article it was that pleased her so, she absently pulled a fresh sheet of parchment and a pen (not a quill) from her bag. Her characteristic handwriting began to appear on the page as she scrawled out quite a long missive, caught the attention of a school owl, and sent it off. She then settled into her breakfast, looking rather like a cat that had eaten all the cream.

He heard her light chuckle, he also did not miss that she wrote something out, combined with the look she was giving off, one ether avoided wanting to know what she was thinking to smile like that for it might not be a good thing to find out. Or two one asked & waited to see what her smiling, like a mystifies cat was all about. Just for the spite of it he spoke "Should, I be worried?"

Her arms stretched out over her head and she arched her back by pressing her shoulders down towards the back of her pants. Her back did not crack, but she seemed much more comfortable after that, turning her head to her employer, the smile less smug but still present. She handed him the newspaper but replied verbally, “The United States is changing its security measures.” The article indicated that by the end of the month they were going to start enacting a policy modeled off her administration’s, using the same theories, but different applications of them. But what really seemed to be making her happy about this situation was, “A rising powerhouse like that has enormous political sway. Canada, Mexico, and Australia will be following suit as soon as they can, as will Russia, and that means that all of those backwater soviet block countries that had me worried will be doing internal investigations within the next six weeks.”

He listened to her words think over them, it could be good or bad depending how it turns out. "Is in more or less words the United States & other country's well be stronger then before." He waited to see if she would say anything more.

“I highly doubt that any of those places will have a lockdown as tight as Germany does, but then again, they are all much larger countries.” Considering that the country of Germany would fit inside the state of Texas, that statement was probably a fair assessment. However, this did not seam to stop the doctor’s appreciation of the situation. In fact, the news seemed to have put her in a contented glow. “Regardless, the bill has been passed, and the amount of resources they are putting towards this is staggering. So yes, if a unanimous vote is anything to say about the enthusiasm for this, people might actually have a fighting chance this time.” After a few moments of this sinking in, it was easy to see why she was excited. No, she realized that other countries probably wouldn't be unassailable, but the new measures would definitely put a huge roadblock in the Death Eater's way.

"It is very light your words are true & if they do not keep a strong cheek on happens, then those that should be stopped will not be. There are many that will not be happy with such news & one must only prey that they do not out think those that keep there country's safe. In the end I am sure it will work well & do better then what they have already"

The professor let out an ungracious snort at the headmaster’s last comment, pouring herself more coffee before replying, “I am of the opinion, Herr Professor,” she took a deep sip of the dark liquid before bringing the saucer up in a way that would make an etiquette teacher crow with delight, “that something is always better than nothing.” Come to think of it, during the Dark Lord’s recent return, none of those countries had done anything, and they had become a perfect hiding place for his supporters. Hopefully, this would shake that up.

A few days ago she might have inquired, ‘I hope you mean interesting in a clinical detached way, and not in a dear-god-the-dark-lord-is-going-to-kill-me-for-this way,’ but this time, her mouth remained shut. If she still suspected him of any type of Death Eater activity, she was being very quiet about it. She smiled politely, turning back to her coffee with a murmured, “Indeed it will be, Herr Professor.”

He nodded at her words before he finished his tea, he then filled it up once more. He also keep a eye on the students that where at the tables a head of them in case something happened.

She personally was zoning out, her eyes dark, distant, and unfocused somewhere in the vicinity of the Gryffindor table. She brought her coffee to her lips as if she were on autopilot, probably drifting somewhere between international politics and her lesson plans for the day. If she were aware of the headmaster beside her, she definitely wasn’t showing it.
